'Sometimes I...' Book Series | Managing Emotions For Kids

Breakthrough books for parents who are committed to supporting their kids' emotional intelligence.

LET’S NORMALISE ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN’S EMOTIONS.

All emotions, positive and negative, are valid. One of the greatest gifts we can give our kids is to give them the space to express their feelings and meet them with empathy and understanding when we do.

When we teach our children at a young age that they’re free and safe enough to express their feelings, we build emotionally resilient adults who never doubt their inherent worthiness.

Sometimes I Cry, Sometimes I Laugh

It's a tale that shows us that whatever and however big
our feelings are, they're valid and worthy.

Inside the book you'll find helpful scripts with examples of how you can support and acknowledge your child's big emotions in tricky situations while simultaneously setting clear, confident limits.

Starting from either side, the book tells two stories that begin separately and meet in the middle. In this way, the book symbolically explores opposite ends of the emotional spectrum and takes a holistic approach to examining these contrasting feelings and the ways we express them.

'Sometimes I Cry, Sometimes' I laugh has a message for parents and children alike - that it’s okay to express all of your emotions.

MORE THAN JUST A STORY ABOUT NAMING YOUR EMOTIONS

It’s all in there.

Two parallel, yet contrasting stories meet in the middle, and explore all of the reasons we may laugh or cry.

A Note From         The Author

“For quite some time, I’ve had a desire to write a children’s book about emotions. But I didn’t just want the book to talk about emotions; I wanted it to acknowledge and respect emotions.

I wanted to write a book that I would feel good about reading to my own children, one that conveys a healthy view of emotions. And while this is certainly a children’s book, I’ve also written it with their parents in mind.
This book’s message is one I am incredibly passionate and believe is the single most important shift we as parents can make in our thinking: if we can truly internalise the idea that all emotions are valid and deserve to be expressed, we will be much better equipped to support our children in developing healthy emotional balance and emotional intelligence.”

- KRISTIN MARIELLA

Laughter isn’t always funny and crying isn’t always sad.

The story thoughtfully displays examples of the reasons we may laugh and the reasons we may cry - all in a way our children understand.
